What to Expect / Bring
The Okanagan is an extremely beautiful place and has fantastic fishing! Depending on which lake and species of fish you would like to target, you could catch Kokanee to 3 pound, Rainbow Trout from 2 pound to 8 pounds and if your very lucky up to 19 pounds, and Lake Trout from 8 pound to over 30 pounds! The scenery is fabulous, from the long and majestic Okanagan Lake, to charming little Wood Lake, and the unique glacial waters of Kalamalka Lake. Kelowna is also one of the sunniest spots in Canada and temperatures can reach in the high 30's (degrees celsius) for much of the summer. It is also a snow skiing destination and can be rather cold but has great winter fishing as well. So it is all here in Kelowna, whether you want soak up the sun and catch rainbows as long as your arm, or chase the big Lakers in the chill of winter and warming temps of spring.
Depending on the time of year you will need everything from sunscreen, a swimsuit, towel, sunglasses and a hat .....to a winter jacket and gloves! You will need to check with us as to the current weather conditions. You will also need to bring snacks and drinks if on a half day trip, or a full lunch and drinks if doing a full day trip. No fishing gear is needed as we supply everything.
At Love2Fish Charters we prefer being a catch and release operation, with the exception of Kokanee and smaller rainbows, in order to preserve the fisheries.
